Children’s HIV Association (CHIVA)

CHIVA is a registered charity working across the UK and Ireland to improve care for HIV positive children and their families. CHIVA provides information, guidance and support for professionals, parents and young people living with HIV and runs an annual support camp for HIV positive young people.

Waverley Care

Waverley Care supports children and young people who are part of a family where someone is living with HIV or Hepatitis C.  They also support children and young people who are themselves living with HIV.

The aim of the project is to build the skills and emotional strength children and young people need to be successful in school, relationships and life.  A large part of this includes nurturing confidence and self-esteem. They work with children and young people from 4 – 21 years old and are flexible to the needs of every family.

Paediatric European Networks for Treatment of AIDS (PENTA)

The PENTA -ID Network brings together key stakeholders in paediatric infectious disease, including researchers, clinicians, regulatory bodies, the pharmaceutical industry and patients and their families, to plan and carry out high quality clinical research and training. The network began in 1991 as PENTA, the Paediatric European Network for Treatment of AIDS, and focused on conducting clinical trials on antiretroviral therapy among HIV-infected children. It later integrated with the European Collaborative Study, one of the largest cohorts of children born to HIV-positive mothers.
